IAM Kia Anthony.
Born in Flint, Michigan, and calling Spring Lake home since 2006, I am a mother, veteran, and entrepreneur. After honorably serving in the Army for seven years with deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq, I embarked on entrepreneurial endeavors. I founded Just Cactus, a natural hair and skincare line, and established Circa 1865, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to celebrating African-American culture. As a community activist, I’ve championed initiatives for marginalized communities, including food distributions, voter and census drives, and drive-through COVID-19 testing sites. Additionally, I’m a founding member of the Greater Sandhills Chamber. Beyond these accomplishments, my dedication to community leadership led to the initiation of the Juneteenth Freedom Festival. I stand firm by the African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” As Mayor Kia Anthony, I embody dedication, service, and unity.
