When I became mayor in 2021, Spring Lake was in crisis. Years of mismanagement left our town under state control, struggling financially and falling behind on basic services. But together, we turned things around. We balanced our budget, repaid misused funds, and ended state oversight years ahead of schedule. Our general fund is healthy again, and we’ve proven that with strong leadership and community trust, anything is possible. We’ve begun the hard work of rebuilding our infrastructure. That means fixing potholes, turning streetlights back on, and investing millions in long-neglected water, sewer, and stormwater systems. We secured state and federal grants to fund critical repairs without burdening local taxpayers. We’re building more than roads and pipes. We’re building pride. From new park investments to the First Friday events downtown, we’ve brought people together again. Our military banner program honors our heroes, and our partnerships with Cumberland County have expanded recreation opportunities for families and seniors. Now, Spring Lake is attracting businesses again. We’re investing in Main Street and preparing for smart, sustainable growth that protects our small-town character.
